Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at contact@parks.mooresville.in.gov if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The Recreation Enrichment Camp (REC) is an extension of the REC&U Before program and is specifically designed for Mooresville Schools students. It offers nonstop fun through exciting games, arts and crafts, and themed adventures each week. The camp is located at Neil Armstrong Elementary School, where campers enjoy a balance of outdoor and indoor activities, spending 50% of their time outdoors. Campers can attend from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with scheduled activities occurring between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. - SEE ATTACHED FLYER

The Pioneer Adventure Camp (PAC) is a fantastic retreat for children preparing for grades K-6. Campers enjoy a full week of fun activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and games based on a weekly theme at the picturesque Pioneer Park. Campers spend 100% of their time outdoors during this camp. They can attend from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with activities scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. - SEE ATTACHED FLYER

Both camps will visit the Mooresville Family Aquatic Center. Each camper will receive a camp shirt and enjoy a daily snack.

A weekly registration is required for every camper. Full payment is due at the time of registration. Registration for each week will remain open until Friday before the week begins at 12pm. For example, if you are interested in registering for the week of June 1-5, you have until Friday May 29th at 12pm to register your camper. For the security of your payment, all weekly registrations must go through Mooresville Park's registration system (Community Pass).

If you register late, registration must be completed in person at the Park Office, and a $25 late fee will be assessed for that week.

Switching to a weekly registration offers families more flexibility during the summer. If you want to take an unplanned vacation, if Grandma wants to keep the kids for the week, or if the camper needs a break from camp, you have the flexibility to pay only for the weeks you know you will use.

No, weekly camp fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once the balance has been paid.

We have worked hard to retain our staff from last year and recruit new staff as well. Camp enrollment will not be capped as years past, so we will have plenty of space to take all campers.

On or around May 15, 2026, an informational parent handbook will be sent via email.

Generally, REC is grouped by ages 5-7 and ages 8-11. PAC Camp is grouped by grades K-2, 3-4, and 5-6.

Both Mooresville Park Camps (REC & PAC) close at 6:00 p.m.  Late charges are $1 per child for each minute late. Every attempt will be made to contact the parent(s) and all emergency contacts listed on the child’s registration form.

  •    Clothing: All campers should wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and tennis/gym shoes. On swim days, campers will need a bathing suit and towel (swim shoes or flip-flops are recommended.  Please be sure to send your child in their swimsuit on their assigned pool day.

  •  Food: All campers need to bring a water bottle. If you are packing your child with lunch, please make sure items are non-perishable. We do not have a way to keep lunches cold. Should you choose, lunch will again also be provided through the Mooresville Schools USDA Free Summer Lunch Program. Please note that on select days and field trip days the school will not provide lunch. All campers will need to provide their own lunches on that day.  Mooresville Park will provide an afternoon snack for all camps. On field trip days, please send lunches in a 100% disposable bag instead of a lunch box or cooler.

  •  Other: All campers should come to camp with spray-on sunscreen already applied, and additional sunscreen in their bags. We will take breaks during the day to reapply sunscreen. It is best to send your camper with “spray-on” sunblock of at least SPF 30. Hats and sunglasses are optional. Please label all belongings with the camper's first and last name.

A field trip permission slip is included in EVERY weekly registration. Field Trip weeks (tentatively weeks 2, 6, 7 & 10) an additional $15.00 will be added in the  weekly tuition.  If you do not want your child to attend a field trip, please make other arrangements for that day. Field trips are an all or nothing thing as we do not have any campers or staff that will stay behind at camp.  For safety reasons, campers cannot be dropped off or picked up from field trip locations. If you are unable to drop your child off before the field trip departure, you will need to wait until we return to the camp location. If you need to pick your child up early on a field trip day, you will need to pick them up at the camp location before we depart for the field trip.
