Independence Day

We are committed to hosting fireworks on  July 4th. This event is planned rain or shine!   If inclement weather (thunder/lighting) is a long-term issue, we will postpone to July 5th. 

All emergency personnel will be stationed at the Pickleball parking lot and Shelter #3. If you need first aid, simply visit either location and our team will be happy to assist you.

RD Productions will provide entertainment on July 4th starting at 7pm. For any updates or cancellations, please follow RD Productions. We will share any information from them as soon as we receive it. 

The aquatic center will have modified hours of 11:15 am - 6 pm and will close in inclement weather (thunder/lighting).

 On July 4th, the park staff will be in the park, not the office. The Park Office will be closed on July 6th in observance of Independence Day. 

Fireworks are visible within Mooresville. Vehicle parking at Pioneer Park will close at 8 pm on July 4th. If Pioneer Park is at capacity, the park will close earlier than 8 pm. Plan to come early and stay late.  There will be NO REENTRY once the gates are closed.

 Yes, the park will close the lower half of Pioneer Park from Friday night to Sunday morning. Only pedestrian traffic will be allowed in the lower half of the park until 6 pm. After 6 pm, only the upper half of the park will be open the lower half becomes a safety zone for the fireworks display. 

 No shelters are available for reservation on July 4th.  All shelters must be SHARED.  You may bring a personal canopy, but it must be removed BEFORE the fireworks begin.  

Parking is tight, expect LARGE CROWDS.   We strive to accommodate as many people as possible in the park. Please show respect to all flaggers and park staff. Setting up canopies, grills, yard games, and chairs in parking spaces near your vehicle is prohibited. 

No.  Once you are parked you must stay parked until the event is over.  Your reentry into the Pioneer Park is NOT guaranteed after you leave the Park.  Once the gates are closed they will remain closed until the event is over.  NO REENTRY

Pioneer Park is a tobacco-free and alcohol-free park. Please do not bring personal fireworks such as sparklers and bottle rockets.  Setting up canopies, grills, yard games, and chairs in parking spaces near your vehicle is prohibited. 

Dogs have extremely sensitive hearing, and fireworks can reach 150–190 decibels, far beyond their comfort threshold, which can even risk hearing damage. The combination of loud, sudden noises, bright flashes, vibrations, and chemical smells triggers a strong fight-or-flight response in dogs.  For these reasons, bringing an animal is not a good idea in a highly populated location like Pioneer Park on Independence Day.
